Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

This is the last post for Devotional Diva in 2015! I hope you enjoyed this year’s Christmas series, and that you have a merry Christmas filled with joy and togetherness.  At the end of the month, I (and my husband and baby Oliver, of course) are moving to Italy! After we are settled a bit more, I will bring Devotional Diva back to its regular posting schedule. Our Next Adventure

I have known about this next adventure in my life for almost a year now. But I didn’t share it because it just never felt real or like it was actually going to happen. It seemed just too good to be true. We are a military family, so we expect a lot of moving. My husband’s orders in San Diego, California are coming to an end. Since San Diego is a big military town with a lot of opportunities, we were hoping to get orders to stay longer. In January, we began looking at orders. There weren’t a lot of options for San Diego. Brandon was able to put down orders…

From the Valley To The Mountaintop

Today I am featuring an interview with author Tracey Jackson, who speaks about her new book, Lessons from the Journey: From the Valley To The Mountaintop. I hope her story of redemption can encourage you! Tracey Jackson is the author of Lessons from the Journey: From the Valley To The Mountaintop where she provides inspiring and intimates stories from a five year period in her life filled ups and downs. She warmly provides the tools (i.e. scripture and prayer) needed to help get her readers through the valley and onward to the mountaintop. Tracey is also a member of numerous community service based organizations in her native South Florida where she…

    He's Here!

This is just a short post to let you know that my son, Oliver, was born! My due date was May 11th, but he arrived May 17th! It was definitely not the labor and delivery experience I had expected. I was induced, but the little guy was in too much stress to go forward with labor. So, I ended up with a C-Section. The thing is, as soon as I got to the hospital to be induced, they figured out Oliver was in distress. If I didn’t have that induction date, I wouldn’t have known! The doctor wanted to try to get him out as soon as we could, but the medication…

    Summer/Baby Break

Devotional Diva is now on summer/baby break! Initially, I intended to keep working on Devotional Diva (scheduling posts, etc.) right up until I gave birth. I was very gung-ho. I’m not due for two more weeks, but I just need to take some time for myself now. I didn’t know how I would feel being so hugely pregnant since this is my first baby. I am tired. I am very tired, and very sore. I get a lot of contractions that can be very painful and sometimes even regular. But, they start and stop. It’s been hard to know if sometimes if we should head to the hospital or not!…

I Have Trust Issues with God

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.  Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Proverbs 3:5-6 So, I’m just going to admit it: I have trust issues with God. For me, I feel it’s kind of a control thing; I don’t like having things “up in the air.” I’ve been reciting the above verse in my head quite often the past couple weeks, to remind myself to stop stressing and let “Jesus take the wheel.” But it’s hard. I mean, I know I worry too much (even though it’s something I have been working…

    Devote Yourself on Pinterest!

I have an idea. Maybe it’s a lame idea that won’t work out, but I’m willing to try! I love Pinterest and I thought maybe we could have a Devotional Diva community board that all the Divas can pin to. We could share quotes and other inspiring/encouraging pictures, articles, etc. on there. I went ahead and made the board, you can check it out right here. The thing is that in order to add pins to it, you need to be invited first. 🙁 Pinterest has a messaging system now, but you can only message people that are following you as far as I can tell. So for now, I think…
