Thankful

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will].

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18

If you’ve ever wondered, What is God’s will for my life? the apostle Paul says in 1 Thessalonians that the first answer to that question is to be thankful.

One of the best ways to enjoy your life is to stop and thank God for the good things He has given you, no matter how big or small. Sometimes we are so anxious to get something new from God, we aren’t enjoying the things He has already blessed us with.

When you aren’t sure what step to take, I encourage you to take the “thanksgiving step”: Actively thank God for His kindness, His goodness, and His faithfulness in your life. You’ll be amazed at how this action will change your perspective and affect your day.
Thankful: Grateful; impressed with a sense of kindness received, and ready to acknowledge it

Imperfect

My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

1 JOHN 2:1 (NKJV)

Much of the anguish over our flaws and weaknesses simply comes from trying to impress ourselves with our own perfection. We desperately want to feel good about ourselves, but we don’t realize we can feel good about ourselves even when we make mistakes, especially when we are sorry for them and we want to improve.

God sees your heart! He is more interested in you than in your performance.

If you have children, you know you didn’t get angry with them if they fell down while trying to learn to walk, or if they spilled food while trying to learn to feed themselves. You comforted them, encouraged them, cleaned them up, and helped them along the way.

God is the same way with us. He is not angry about our imperfections, and He wants to help us. Receive God’s love and mercy and enjoy your journey.
Imperfect: Not finished; not complete
