    Spiritual Fitness

Happy Valentine’s Day, Divas! Are you ready for Lent? No? Yeah, I can’t believe it’s almost here either (Feb. 18th!!)! I really enjoy going through devotionals during the whole year, but especially during Lent. I was contacted by the ladies at Vaulter Fit, a fitness blog, about their new Lent devotional Spiritual Fitness. It is described as “a journey to strengthen body and soul.” I went through it, and really enjoyed it. The devotionals are spot-on and the included workouts for each day make it cool and different. I want to be really upfront about this: the links in this post for Spiritual Fitness are referral links. If you were to…

    Little Diva…or Divo?

Since this is my first blog post on Devotional Diva this year, happy new year and I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! But Divas, we’ve got an issue on our hands. In November, I announced my pregnancy. If you’ll recall, I said that a baby girl would be a little Diva (obviously) and I pondered aloud what we should call a baby boy. All I came up with was Divo. It was just a few days before Christmas that my husband and I were blessed to find out that we’re having a baby boy! So, I mean…is Little Divo an acceptable title? 🙂 Also on New Year’s Eve, we had a 4D…

    Every Good Gift

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17 Well, Christmas is nearly here! There’s only one more post left in our Christmas guest post series, “The gifts God has given you.” That will go up on Tuesday. I truly hope you’ve been encouraged by the series! After that, Devotional Diva will take a holiday break until January. At this point, I’m not sure of the exact date in January we’ll be back! I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to begin submitting your stories for 2015!…

    For Unto Us

Yay! Next week begins our 1st ever Christmas guest post series! The theme of the series is “the gifts God has given you.” Christmas is a very special time, and I wanted to do something special on Devotional Diva because Jesus is the best gift of all! For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 The week will start early, kicking everything off on Monday, December 8th instead of our regularly-scheduled Tuesday — there will be other special days…

I'll Do What's Best for Me

I came across this quote online earlier…and it just had to be this Saturday’s post. It’s important to remember what you need, despite what you think others may want or need. Personally, I’m struggling with this. I want to go full-steam ahead with all of the plans I have, but physically I need to slow down. That’s what is best for me. And now I’ll do what is best for me. As we head into this busy holiday season, try not to forget what’s best for you!   →M

    Little Miracle on the Way!

I’m writing this post on my 3rd wedding anniversary. When I was younger, I always used to imagine being pregnant on my 3rd anniversary. I guess I just thought that would be a good time to have my first baby. And I wanted a May baby, because my home state of Iowa usually has pretty good weather in May. Both of those teenage dreams are coming true! My husband, Brandon, and I are expecting our first baby in May 2015 (I’m beginning the 2nd trimester now). My official due date is actually the day after Mother’s Day, which I think is kind of cool. I’m so excited to finally share…

    Letting Go

I recently let go of something that was really, really bugging me. Sometimes, I hang onto issues that are bothering me until something happens that makes me get pretty angry. And then, because I hate being angry and upset…I’m just able let go. And it’s the sweetest feeling. There’s nothing sweeter than letting go. →M

Christmas Guest Post Series: Submit Your Stories!

I wanted to take this opportunity to announce the 2014 Devotional Diva Christmas Guest Post Series! This is an idea I came up with for my first Christmas as editor-in-chief here. I knew I definitely wanted to have Christmas-themed guest posts during December, but didn’t really know how to go about it. I came up with a “theme” that I would like all of the guest posts from December 9th – 23rd to follow. Since we have a Tuesday/Thursday guest post schedule, that means there’s only 5 official spots. However, depending on the response I receive, I’m open to adding more spots on other days between those dates. Now, are…
