Devote Yourself on Pinterest!

devote yourself on pinterest devotional divaI have an idea. Maybe it’s a lame idea that won’t work out, but I’m willing to try!

I love Pinterest and I thought maybe we could have a Devotional Diva community board that all the Divas can pin to. We could share quotes and other inspiring/encouraging pictures, articles, etc. on there. I went ahead and made the board, you can check it out right here.

The thing is that in order to add pins to it, you need to be invited first. 🙁 Pinterest has a messaging system now, but you can only message people that are following you as far as I can tell. So for now, I think it would just be easiest for you to email me requesting an invite.

If you have Pinterest and want to add to the board, just email me at editor(at)devotionaldiva(dot)com with your name and email address and I’ll invite you to join the fun!

If you’d just like to check me out on Pinterest, this is my link!

I'm Slipping, I'm Falling

i'm slipping i'm falling devotional divaToday, this verse really moved me.

The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,”
your love, God, took hold and held me fast.

Psalm 94:18 (MSG)

Have you felt like this lately? I can say I have. In the nighttime, I tend to get more anxious. What an encouragement this is today!

I also wanted to mention, there will be no new posts next week (March 1st-7th). I need to carve out time in my schedule to work on the Devotional Diva redesign, since I put up posts the week before!

Regarding the redesign…if you’re on the page right now, you’ll notice the new logo and changes! I still need to make some tweaks and fix up the newsletter and Facebook, though!

Currently, I am attempting to become a reformed worrier. I have been working on this for awhile, because my worrying used to get really out of hand. And there are sooo many scriptures that instruct one to not worry.

It is a process. I have gotten better at handling my fears and anxiety about things, but it is still something I’m striving to improve upon.

Scriptures do help ease my racing thoughts, but I chose to share this quote today because it appeals to the rational side of my brain. I find that reasoning and something “making sense” in my mind helps me to accept things.

“Worrying won’t stop bad stuff from happening. It just stops you from enjoying the good.”

For Unto Us

for unto us a child is born devotional diva

Yay! Next week begins our 1st ever Christmas guest post series! The theme of the series is “the gifts God has given you.”

Christmas is a very special time, and I wanted to do something special on Devotional Diva because Jesus is the best gift of all!

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6

The week will start early, kicking everything off on Monday, December 8th instead of our regularly-scheduled Tuesday — there will be other special days like that this month!

I still have a little room for extra posts on those “special” days, and I know there were a few of your who said you might submit. If you still want to, NOW IS THE TIME! The deadline is December 11th.

Find more information about the series here!

I'll Do What's Best for Me

quotes on devotional diva

I came across this quote online earlier…and it just had to be this Saturday’s post. It’s important to remember what you need, despite what you think others may want or need. Personally, I’m struggling with this. I want to go full-steam ahead with all of the plans I have, but physically I need to slow down. That’s what is best for me.

And now I’ll do what is best for me.

As we head into this busy holiday season, try not to forget what’s best for you!
